Vitiligo

I have been diagnosed with this condition. :(

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not to be confused with alphos, a form of leprosy once called vitiligo.

Vitiligo (pronounced /ˈvɪtəˈlaɪgoʊ/) or leukoderma is a chronic skin disease that causes loss of pigment, resulting in irregular pale patches of skin. It occurs when the melanocytes, cells responsible for skin pigmentation, die or are unable to function. The precise cause of vitiligo is complex and not fully understood. There is some evidence suggesting it is caused by a combination of auto-immune, genetic, and environmental factors.

This was something Michael Jackson was said to have, thus the reason he became a "white man".
Click here to see what i googled and found. Images of Michael that show signs that he has the condition, if you're interested that is. =)

In short, its
a skin disorder in which smooth whitish patches appear on the skin.
It is totally not contagious. It only has the probability
of manifesting itself in me. Might only. (means might have more white patches on me.) =(

There's nothing much to it. The skin still feels the same, just that it is of a different colour.
My family doctor has assured me that it is not anything serious. And i'm quite lucky its only on my hand. She mentioned she had a patient who has it on his face. And he's an indian. Geez.
The contrast between pigmented and depigmented skin can be quite drastic.
(He probably needs to start using concealer on his face i guess?)

Currently, i have a total of 5 small patches on my right hand. It was when i got tanned and therefore noticed little patches. Thus decided to check with the doctor.

Its not very clear in the photos however. The one nearer to my wrist is the biggest patch so far, the other 4 patches are small and is not really noticeable. Thank god.
There is an element of the inheritance of the disorder. My mom told me she thinks my aunt has the same problem, and she wears long sleeves every time she's out.

Here's a clearer picture of what the disorder is like.
Your skin loses colour in short.

My doctor has given me a cream to treat it. If it doesn't make any difference, i can go refer to a skin specialist. =D
Use some UV light or don't know what to help treat it.

However, for now, i must avoid the sun.
No more tanning! =(

Means i can only go swim in the morning or evening where the sun is not at its brightest. =(
I think i must start like going everywhere in sunglasses and umbrella. Like Michael Jackson.
Heh.

I must become fair like before i went tanning. Like a year ago i think? Then if got any patches cannot see! hahahahaha!

And eh!

I not contagious laR! Touching me WILL NOT get you affected lar.
It only affects within me. Don't believe go Google it and read up on it lo.

I was just thinking, next time got "pervert" i can go say, you sure you want to come near me? And shows my discoloured skin area.

Clever? =D

Muahahahahahaha!
